Ingredients

Block of sweet shortcrust pastry: 500 g

Jar of mincemeat: 400 g

Caster sugar: 25 g

Icing sugar: 25 g

How to prepare

1. Preheat the oven to 200°C/400°F/gas mark 6. Roll out the pastry to about 4 mm thick and cut out 24 6.5 cm (2½ in) discs. Then cut 24 5 cm (2 in) discs for the lids

2.Line a mini morsel baking tin with the larger pastry discs and fill two-thirds full with mincemeat. Dampen the edges with a little cold water and press on the pastry lids. Brush lightly with water and sprinkle with caster sugar

3. Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the pastry is crisp and golden brown

4. Pile up on a plate and dust with a little icing sugar before serving
